Marrickville locals are in for an absolute treat, with dessert legend Anna Polyviou announcing that she’ll soon be opening her first ever patisserie.
The celebrity pastry chef, cookbook author and television personality shared the news on social media on January 31, along with a photo of her unlocking the doors of the new premise.
“MARRICKVILLE IM HOME”, the post said.
She went on to explain to followers that it has “forever been a dream of mine to be around such an amazing community” and that she is in the process of developing recipes—with locals to be invited to taste-test!
In the week leading us to the announcement, Polyviou’s posts, featuring beautiful, luxxe cakes, hinted that some big news was coming.
Last year in an interview with Delicious, Polyviou said she would be making fresh croissants and bakery treats every morning, as well as a range of spectacular celebration cakes for takeaway.
“I also want to have a bit of a Greek twist in there as well. I want to be doing my spanakopita, I want to have some of mum’s haloumi cheese too,” she told the magazine.
The patisserie isn’t the only big news for the sweet star lately. In fact, she has also just dropped a permanent range of cookie doughs available to purchase at Harris Farm markets, following the success of her 2020 and 2021 cookie collaborations with Chargrill Charlie’s.
