Following hot on the heels of the Bake Skills pastry competition, the 2026 Bake Skills National Apprentice Baker winner has been announced.

Following two days of competition, Stavriana Taliadoros from Sunraysia Bread & Butter has been crowned the winner.

Stavriana competed against apprentice bakers Evan Jenkins and Tiahnee Franzone for the two-day event.

Each of the competitors was required to make:

• croissants and brioche
• white sourdough
• rye sourdough
• baguettes with gourmet fillings
• pretzels
• instant white doughs
• spanakopitas

As part of her prize Stavriana received the coveted green jacket and Bake Skills trophy, as well as a trip overseas.

The Bake Skills competition was held as part of Fine Food Australia, which was held in Melbourne from August 31 to September 3.
