Brisbane’s baked goods scene is set to innovate with the arrival of The Bake Drop—the city’s first gourmet bakery vending machine—launching at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre on August 19.
The venture, founded by La Fleur Macaron creator Raman Singh, marks a major milestone for the local entrepreneur as she continues her transition from pharmacist to full-time baker and businesswoman.
The Bake Drop will provide 24/7 access to handcrafted treats through a custom-designed vending machine, which will be restocked daily with La Fleur Macaron’s signature French macarons alongside cookies, brownies, cupcakes, donuts, and pastries.
The machine offers contactless payment, ensuring convenience without compromising on freshness or quality.
A pop-up store will accompany the machine launch on August 18, allowing early visitors to sample the selection ahead of the official opening.
Raman, who built La Fleur Macaron from a home-based operation into a sought-after boutique brand, says the idea for The Bake Drop came from a desire to combine artisanal baking with smart retail technology.
“Leaving behind a stable career to follow my obsession with baking was both challenging and empowering,” Raman said.
“With The Bake Drop, I’ve combined my love for inclusive, handcrafted treats— including gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free options—with smart technology to create a fresh and accessible experience.”
The Bake Drop is designed to meet the demand for premium baked goods around the clock—whether it’s a morning snack, a late-night dessert fix, or a spontaneous indulgence.
Described on its website as a “bakery ATM,” it removes the limitations of traditional retail by offering artisan-quality desserts any time of day or night.
Raman’s journey into the food industry began with a single macaron recipe and a vision for accessible elegance in baking.
La Fleur Macaron has since grown into a trusted name for quality and creativity, with The Bake Drop representing a natural extension of that ethos.
By embracing automated retail, Singh is also supporting local baking talent, aiming to bring the bakery experience to more high-traffic areas across Brisbane.
Future locations are already being explored, and the brand encourages businesses and venues to reach out for collaboration.
