The 2025 ASB Conference will be held at the Sofitel on Queensland's Gold Coast

There are just weeks to go until the Australian Society of Baking’s (ASB) Annual Conference and Chairman’s Dinner, and the six speakers have been confirmed for the event.

The event is set to take place from October 14-15, 2025, at the Sofitel Broadbeach on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

Boasting the theme “Golden opportunities, bold innovation, and brilliant baking” the event is shaping up to be a great one.

ASB Conference Committee Chairman Imran Ibrahim said the six industry experts would deliver cutting-edge presentations on a range of topics.

“It’s all about keeping your bakery ahead of the curve,” he said.

The six speakers and their topics are:

  • Karin Blacow, Senior Food Safety Specialist, Commercial Food Sanitation. Topic: “Artisan to industrial: streamlining hygiene across bakery operations.
  • Victoria Clem, Head of Cake, Muffin & Donut Innovation, Allied Pinnacle. Topic: Consumer trends, the ‘major consumer’ and ‘influential consumers’ and how that inspires product development.
  • Stewart Eddie, Food Technologist, ASKAFOODTECH. Topic: Behind the Bake: a real-world approach to new product development.
  • Kemilyn Ferraz, Marketing Executive, ANZ, Ingredion. Topic: Beyond Taste: How texture shapes bakery innovation across Asia Pacific.
  • Mark Baczynski, Group Technical Manager, Manildra. Topic: Fibre and Protein.
  • Katherine Sherrie, Business Development Manager, FPM Cereal Milling Systems. Topic: From mill to oven: strengthening the link between milling and baking.
