Chocolate Holiday a Winner

A country retreat offering a decadent chocolate experience has been named as a finalist in the national AusMumpreneur Awards.

Cassandra Hamel provides an indulgent escape from the real world through Milton Country Retreat, which she runs with her husband Christopher. The retreat offers visitors luxury accommodation in a retreat-like setting coupled with decadent chocolate experiences.

Cassandra says, “Time away for people is so incredibly precious. Just dreaming of a holiday can help you cope with the mundane day-to-day routines of life, so I wanted to create something to be excited about and to truly look forward to.”

The chocolate experiences come in the form of workshops, which Cassandra runs at The Chocolate Cottages, and include classes on vintage high tea, tempering, and making a unique chocolate block.

Cassandra was a finalist in the AusMumpreneur Business Excellence Award in New South Wales as well as in the Stayz Most Valuable Property Awards in 2017.

She says, “Our business is in a very remote area of Morton (near Milton, NSW) so I was utterly delighted to have been nominated as a finalist against other extremely successful and talented business women in Australia.”

Cassandra was one of 12 finalists, which included Jessica Gough from Jespresso, Fatema Khanbhai from The Chai Room and Chamain Lovett and Suzan Temizer from Three Birds Do Wine.
