Foxtel has commissioned a local version of the British “bake off” format, to be fronted by food icon Maggie Beer and chef Matt Moran.
The Great Australian Bake Off will be produced by FremantleMedia for Foxtel’s Lifestyle Food channel.
The series puts contestants through a series of baking challenges, churning out cakes, pies, tarts, pastries and biscuits.
The format has been replicated in the US, Denmark and Sweden. Channel Nine produced a local version in 2013.
