The Baking Association of Australia (BAA) Victorian Committee invites you to save the date and take note of the new venue for the 2022 Victorian Baking Show.
On February 26-27, bakers will roll into the All Seasons Hotel in the city of Bendigo for a weekend of giveaways, demonstrations and of course, competition. The Show this year will host three wonderful events for an exciting weekend for the baking industry, including:
2022 AUSTRALIA’S BEST HOT CROSS BUN COMPETITION
This class is open to individual bakery businesses and official winners can only promote the bakery where produced.
Bakers must submit six identical items per entry, which must be produced from an enriched dough with the addition of fruit only. No chocolate buns or other flavours—please enter these in the Innovative Hot Cross Bun Class.
Judges will be looking for volume, colour, fruit to dough ratio, flavour and moistness of fruit.
The official winner of the 2022 Australia’s Best Hot Cross Bun will enjoy a full week of promotional activities at their bakery. This will include an official civic reception on site, along with full media coverage and a full week of promotional prizes for customers.
2022 AUSTRALIA’S BEST VANILLA SLICE COMPETITION
Bakers will be required to submit six traditional vanilla slices. Judges will be looking for a puff pastry base and top, with tempered fondant decorated along with a creamy, smooth custard centre for mouth feel.
Appearance should be presented as an edible size vanilla slice.
THE VICTORIAN TRAINING TROPHY
Entries to the Apprentice Section Classes in the Victorian Baking Show are free to all students. Apprentices can also enter other classes to earn points, and the BAA invites all Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to encourage students to enter. All entries will earn points that will culminate in one RTO winning the Victorian Training Trophy.
Further information on the Victorian Baking Show can be obtained by contacting the BAA on 0410511414.
