Brissy gets drive-thru dessert fest

Brisbane’s Eat Street Northshore has come up with a pretty sweet idea to combat COVID-19 woes in time for the school holidays, launching their very own Drive-Thru Dessert Festival.

The popular shipping container foodie hub is throwing open its gates for the KombiAlley Drive-Thru Dessert Festival from September 18 to October 4, opening every Friday and Saturday from 3-9pm, and each Sunday from 12-8pm.

A strictly drive-thru event, passengers are not allowed to get out of their vehicles. Patrons will enter through Carpark 1, order their treats and be allotted a number on their windscreen, with further directions to drive through the famous “Hello” gate to collect the delicious desserts in KombiAlley. Also, every order number with a “9” in it will receive an extra free treat!

Desserts up for grabs will include My Kitchen Rules winners Jake & Elle’s cannoli, cronuts, doughnut fries, loaded shakes and take-away tubs of ice-cream.

Boogie on in your car with DJ music and videos from the open Sky Theatre, or tune into Eat Street’s own radio channel with Jonny Drama whose mission it is to keep your spirits as high as your blood sugar as you tuck into your tasty treats.
