Bakery Du Jour Aquired Australian Pastry Manufacturer

International bakery group, Lantmännen Unibake, has signed an agreement to acquired Australian pastry manufacturer Bakery Du Jour Aquired. The acquisition is a key step to expand Lantmännen Unibake’s global footprint.

Family-owned Bakery Du Jour  was founded more than 20 years ago and is a leading supplier of premium pastry products to major Australian retailers as well as foodservice customers. Bakery Du Jour employs around 90 people and is located in Melbourne.

Since 2006, Lantmännen Unibake has been successfully exporting pastry products to the Australian market. The acquisition of Bakery Du Jour Aquired now supports Lantmännen Unibake’s growth with locally produced products.

“Bakery Du Jour has a strong, customer-focused company culture with highly engaged people, an attractive market position as well as business model. Building on our passion for baking, quality focus and innovation, we believe there is great potential to grow the combined businesses further and continue to deliver great results,” Lantmännen Unibake CEO Werner Devinck said.

Fernando Gaspar, owner of Bakery Du Jour, said, “In order to grow Bakery Du Jour further and realise its full potential, we have been looking for a strong business partner with the necessary skills, experience and industry expertise. With Lantmännen Unibake we have found that.”

The transaction is subject to approval by authorities. Until closing, both companies will continue to operate independently.

With the current commercially retailed line, could you please halve the amount of sugar used in the brioche slider buns? ‘Sliders’ implies a savory filling which is not a satisfactory blend with the currently over-sweet blend.

    Hi,

I would like to know if the process line equipment are thoroughly cleaned between products when making the Vegan croissants. On the front of the package it has the Vegan Certification as well as an Allergen Advice on the back which states it may contain egg and other allergens.

If the Allergen Advice is stated on your product as a requirement by law due other products being made in your facility which contain allergen ingredients, that will not be a problem for me as long as thorough cleaning of your equipment/process line is carried out between products.

If I know what the situation is, I will be able to make a decision if it is ok for me to consume.

    Thank you.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Regards,
    Elleny Papas

Hi Elleny, unfortunately, we don’t have any information about this, as this is just a news article. You would need to get in touch with the manufacturer directly for information of that nature.
