The Baking association of australia (Baa) has been presented with the Champions in agriculture award at the Sydney Royal easter Show.

the award recognises the Baa’s long-standing contribution to the Sydney Royal easter show, specifically its Petey Pie Bakery that has been running for a number of years.

the association’s executive director tony Smith said the award recognised how visitors appreciate learning about the pie-making process.

“the Petey Pie Bakery is a very popular event every year. We show visitors how real pies are made from australian beef and australian wheat,” tony said.

“all pies are made by hand in front of the show crowds, who are quick to come and say they found the experience educational and also very entertaining.”
