The 2020 Australia’s Best Pie & Pastie Competition will be returning to the Baking Industry Trade Show!

The competition will still be held in 2020 on the new dates of August 25-27 at Moonee Valley Race Course, Moonee Ponds, Melbourne, and all of the industry is invited to come along and watch the live judging of the competition, take part in the live demos and workshops, and see what the rest of Australia has to offer when it comes to the prestigious title of Australia’s Best Pie and Pastie!

The Australia’s Best Pie and Australia’s Best Pastie competitions are conducted by the Baking Association of Australia, the industry’s peak body and are the baking industry’s only recognised national pie and pastie competition.

Both of these competitions carry industry prestige and pride as they are conducted by the industry and for the industry. Both competitions are also supported by key industry allied traders and judged to industry standard criteria used and recognised nationally.

Food blogger Shaun Pyne of Pyney’s Pie Reviews said he was honoured to be selected to sit on the judging panel for this year’s competition.

“I’m super excited to be added to the judging panel for this year’s ‘Australia’s best Pie & Pastie competition’”, he wrote on his Facebook page.

“To be invited by a industry leader such as the BAA is very humbling and rewarding.

“What started out as a bit of fun 9 months ago has now gone a bit crazy! The most rewarding thing is meeting so many amazing owners and sharing their stories and in a small way supporting locally owned small businesses.

“During the past 9 months I have tasted so many AWESOME pies.”
