Bakery and flour manufacturer Allied Pinnacle has announced it has sponsored a team member to attend the world-renowned Swiss School of Milling (SMS).
This is the second time the company has participated in the program, which is designed to provide millers with access to one of the most prestigious training institutions in the global grain industry.
Henry Fouche, who is currently the Mill manager at Allied Pinnacle’s Picton site, has been selected to attend the course and jetted off to St Gallen, Switzerland, in September.
Henry said the Swiss School of Milling is considered the Harvard of the industry.
“… so being here is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” he said.
“The program is already giving me new perspectives on how we can build on our strong foundations at Allied Pinnacle – from refining processes at intake to further enhancing collaboration across teams. The emphasis on precision and teamwork here in Switzerland is something I’m excited to bring back and share.”
Allied Pinnacle chief executive officer David Pitt said, “at Allied Pinnacle, we bake the future from flour, and investing in our people is fundamental to that purpose.”
“This program gives our team access to world-class expertise and reinforces our commitment to innovation and excellence in the milling industry.
The Swiss School of Milling offers comprehensive training in milling technology, flour production, quality assurance, natural sciences, and hands-on laboratory work providing millers with the technical expertise needed to lead in a competitive global market.
