Queensland-based major food wholesaler PE Foods has announced the company will be moving to a new purpose-built facility south of Brisbane.

Construction on the new $29 million, 6533sq m facility is expected to begin in early 2026, with family-owned-and-operated business anticipated to move in by September 2026.

PE Foods Managing Director Matthew Einersen said the new facility’s increased capacity and modern multi-temperature-control technology would accommodate the company’s expanding and diverse product range, which extends from bakery and patisserie products to specialist butters, cheeses, olives and antipasti, chocolate, Asian delicacies, meats and charcuterie, oils and thousands of other foodie essentials from Australian and international gourmet brands.

“Our new facility at Transition will be the ‘secret ingredient’ ensuring our customers receive high-quality supplies whenever they need them,” he said.

“Centralising our Brisbane operations into one facility will streamline and future-proof our business to support long-term growth.

“The Transition warehouse incorporates state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology so our customers and suppliers will receive the best possible experience with PE Foods.

“And, for our team, the new premises will provide a safe, well-designed, modern workspace that supports efficiency, collaboration and pride.”

The new facility will be located at Transition-Archerfield Logistics Estate south of Brisbane, which is already home to businesses like Allied Express, SLR Trans, Star Entertainment, and Shelby Power.

Archerfield Airport Corporation (AAC) Managin Director Lachlan Bird said he was delighted to welcome another family business to Transition Estate.

“AAC works closely with businesses of all shapes and sizes to design and build facilities that will meet their needs for many years and we’re thrilled to have PE Foods join the Archerfield Airport community,” he said.

“Transition Estate is ideal for e-commerce, logistics, cold store, aerospace and manufacturing businesses looking for a central location, great connectivity and 24/7 operational capacity.  With Brisbane’s industrial land expected to be fully occupied within five years, these advantages will soon be irreplaceable and we congratulate PE Foods for grabbing this opportunity.”

PE Foods is one of Australia’s leading food wholesalers, supplying a wide range of bakery ingredients, specialty and artisan products and pantry essentials.  Established in 1981, it offers more than 7,000 products delivered to restaurants, hotels, cafes, caterers, wholesalers and retailers from northern New South Wales to Far North Queensland.
