On September 25 some of Canberra’s – and the surrounding areas – best bakers converged on CIT Restaurant for the Canberra Baking Show.

More than 195 entries were submitted for judging on the day across the 28 categories.

The Champion Loaf of the Show was awarded to Clinton Sheehan from Erindale Cakery Bakery for his Ciabatta Loaf. The Piefather took home the Champion Cake/Pastry of the Show for their Espresso BBQ Beef Pie, in addition to first prize for the Plain Meat Pie, Gourmet Pies, and Sausage Roll categories.

William Nicolaou from Bakers Delight Mittagong was awarded the Canberra Perpetual Trophy.

It was the second time Erindale Cakery Bakery was named as one of the major prize winners, with Shubana Sheehan taking out the Champion Cake / Pastry of the Show in 2024.

The next Baking Association of Australia competition will be the Tasmanian Baking Show, which is set to take place on October 30.
