After the success of the inaugural 2016 Savour Patissier of the Year competition, the sweet battle will return to Foodservice Australia on May 28 to 30 in Melbourne.

for pastry chefs from around the country, and the world, who want to show off their sweet skills.
The competition is a concept developed by Melbourne-based and internationally renowned patissier Kirsten Tibballs, to celebrate and acknowledge talented pastry chefs.
Competitors will bring their product to the competition pre-made and put the finishing touches and garnishes on in the competition arena.
From there, judges will taste and judge each product, and select a winner in each category. The contestant with the highest combined score will win the title and prize of Savour Patissier of the Year.
On the judging panel are world-renowned patissiers Christophe Michalak, TV star, author of several books and owner of three patisseries in Paris; Jordi Roca, voted Best Pastry Chef in the World and his establishment el celler de can roca the Best Restaurant in the World; Antonio Bachour, owner of Bachour Bakery and Bistro in Miami; and executive pastry chef at Savour School, Paul Kennedy.
Competing across the categories of tarts, eclairs, entremets, and desserts, the winner of 2017 Savour Patissier of the Year will receive:

β’ Three-day trip to Hong Kong to train with Marike Van Beurden at the Ravifruit Studio
β’ More than $10,000 worth of equipment
β’ Trophy and the title of Savour Patissier of the Year.
